Healthcare Leadership Development Program

This program serves as a University of Miami Health System (UHealth) cornerstone program for continued career and leadership development. HLDP is a dynamic and immersive program that provides key insights and hands-on expertise spanning across UHealth inpatient and ambulatory environments, reaffirming our dedication to building a strong, high-achieving leadership culture across the entire health system.

Who Should Attend: 

  • UHealth manager and director level leaders with at least one direct report.
  • Has more than 6 months in their current leadership role.
  • Interested in personal development and growth in a leadership capacity.
  • Received a rating of “Successfully Meets Expectations” or above on the most recent TALK evaluation.
  • Be in good standing, not on a corrective action, or improvement plan.

The structure:

  • Healthcare Leadership Development Program is an 8-month interactive program developed to cultivate critical skills and tactics necessary for leaders within the healthcare enterprise.
  • Selected participants must commit to attending 10 full-day, in-person sessions.
  • Participants will collaborate on a hands-on project to propose actionable solutions for UHealth's initiatives, culminating in a presentation to senior leadership for potential implementation.

By attending Healthcare Leadership Development Program, UHealth leaders will focus on 3 main skills:

Interested?

  • Candidates must be nominated by their supervisor to participate in the program.
  • Discuss with your supervisor your interest and ablility to commit to the program.
  • Nominations will be reviewed and those that advance to the next round will be scheduled for a 30-minute interview. All selected candidates (and their leader) will be notified of acceptance.
